KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Labour Saeed Ghani inaugurated three-day Pakistan Learning Festival (PLF) organised by Arts Council Karachi (ACK). Number of students from 150 schools participated in festival on first day.
Minister appreciated endeavour of Council in direction to providing platform to children for new teaching and learning opportunities. President Council Ahmad Shah said work done to make Faiz Ahmed Faiz popular in schools is good tradition. Such festivals provides help in promoting higher education, he added.
Secretary School Education and Literature Ghulam Akbar Leghari, Deputy Commissioner Saeed and Irshad Ali Dodhar also attended function.
“It is great pleasure to see enthusiasm of children,” actor Ahsan Khan said. Bella Raza Jamil, CEO of Institute for Education and Awareness said learning process should be continued.
CLF co-founder and consultant Amina Syed appreciated partners’ cooperation in promoting reading, creativity and learning in children and teachers. OUP Managing Director Arshad Saeed Hussain, Muhammad Baqir, Abdullah Khan and Saira Khan also participated.
Deaf Reach students kicked off festival with national anthem while Joseph Convent and other students presented their work.
Around 28 exciting children’s books were launched by RTR and translated into Urdu under ITA Pakistan Literacy Project. BOP CEO Zafar Masood announced Young Author Award. A mobile rickshaw library, a book car was also launched.
