Karachi: Ziauddin University awarded 842 degrees to the graduating students for various disciplines at the Convocation 2023, held at the Family Park adjacent to Ziauddin University.

At the Convocation 2023 of Ziauddin University, graduating students were conferred degrees in various disciplines including medicine, dentistry, Pharm.D, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical technology, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering technology, software engineering, electrical engineering, biotechnology, business administration, biomedical engineering technology, civil engineering technology, communications & media studies, digital media marketing, audiology & speech language therapy, ultrasonography, nursing, B.Ed, healthcare management, MS, MD, M.Phil and Ph.D. As a chief guest of the degree conferring ceremony, appreciating the efforts of all the graduating students, Provincial Minister of Local Government, Housing Town Planning & Public Health Engineering Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that “I know the road hasn't been easy, but your efforts have paid off, and you are now equipped with the knowledge and skills to face the challenges that lie ahead. Your achievements are a testament to your commitment and determination to succeed.

“Higher education is undoubtedly the key solution to all our problems as no society can develop without it. Therefore, the first priority of the government should be the promotion of higher education. It is imperative for students to continue learning and never give up in order to be successful, professional, and progress in life”, he further added. During the address as a chief guest, whilst motivating and advising the fresh graduates, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said “always bear in mind that you are under oath to abide by professional ethics. Carry on the good work through your profession.

Addressing the convocation, the Chancellor of Ziauddin University Dr. Asim Hussain congratulated the graduating students, he acknowledged their success by stating “It is a matter of great privilege and honor for me to welcome you all to the convocation of 2023. As you embark on your journey after graduation, do not be afraid to face obstacles and let your passion drive you toward success. Character-building is the most important aspect of education, and our faculty has worked hard to provide the best environment for our students. We need to improve education in Pakistan by changing the old curricula and fighting against unskilled people hindering our progress. Thank you to our dedicated faculty for their hard work and love for the cause.”

Dr. Asim Hussain while addressing the graduates said, “On the achievement of this milestone, remember those who have supported you in this journey, especially your parents, teachers, and mentors. As you advance into the future, you have been provided with an exciting opportunity to join the world’s most accomplished communities of alumni, with local and global connections, across all disciplines. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.”

At the auspicious occasion of 20th convocation of Ziauddin University, Dr. Nida Hussain, Pro-Chancellor, Ziauddin University, awarded Sir Ziauddin Gold Medals to the top eighteen position holders for their exemplary academic performance during their tenure at Ziauddin University. The medal recipients included Ayesha Muneer Arain (MBBS), Areeba Sohail (PharmD), Zainab Fatima (DPT), Hadiqa Tabani (DOT), Bakhtawar Ashraf (BSN), Mahazaib Pasha (BBA), Muqaddas Kanwal (Medical Technology), Hiba Hafeez (Biomedical Engineering Technology), Amenah Abdul Majeed (Biomedical Engineering), Talha Saleem (Biotechnology), Jabir Hussain (Civil), Muhammad Bin Amjad (Electrical), Faryal Zahra (Software Engineering), Muhammad Mohsin (Civil Engineering Technology), Ebad-Ul-Haq (Electrical Engineering Technology), Sanila Azhar (Communication and Media Sciences), Rabia Afzal (Audiology and Speech Language Therapy), Ayesha Ali (Dental Surgery). While giving the gold medals, Dr. Nida Hussain, Pro-Chancellor, of Ziauddin University appreciated all passing out students and said, "I am proud to say that the university has played a crucial role in preparing you for the challenges you will face in the future. You have been challenged and inspired, and you have emerged as a confident individual, ready to make your mark on the world. I am confident that you will make a positive impact wherever life takes you.”

 Earlier, in his welcome speech of Ziauddin University’s Convocation 2023, Prof. Dr. Irfan Hyder, Vice-Chancellor extends his warmest congratulations to students by saying, “As you embark on the next chapter of your lives, whether it be further education or entering the workforce, I have no doubt that you will continue to make a positive impact on the world around you. Ziauddin University has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to be leaders in your respective fields, and I am confident that you will use these tools to effect positive change in your communities and beyond.
