Zardari says sugarcane price will be Rs400 per maund next year

KARACHI: Former President Asif Ali Zardari said next year, support price of sugarcane will be fixed at Rs 400 per maund. According to report, Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said fair price for sugarcane will make country self-sufficient in sugar production.

He said that time has come to redress injustices done to farmers as by doing justice to kisan and farmers, prosperity of country will be developed. Zardari said in statement issued here that if farmer is prosperous, he will pay attention to harvest and country’s food basket will be filled with national crops.
