Zardari calls for efforts to end poverty

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples' Party co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari asked all stakeholders to collaborate in an effort to eradicate poverty from country.
In his Eid message, Zardari said, "I would felicitate Muslims throughout world on arrival of Eidul Azha. Lessons of sacrifice, endurance, and tolerance are taught to us on Eid. It is imperative that we remember those in need".
"We should remember our Kashmiri brothers, sisters and children. Prayers will be offered for country's valiant sons who are protecting it," Zardari maintained. "We shall also honour our martyrs who sacrificied their lives in defence of country," he added.
Meanwhile, Asif Ali Zardari returned home after three-day visit to Dubai to celebrate Eidul Azha in Nawabshah. Sources divulged that Zardari will leave Karachi for Nawabshah today to celebrate Eid. However, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will celebrate Eid in Dubai.Last week, He said that charter of economy was need of hour. Speaking to industrialists, PPP co-Chairman underscored nation’s potential and dubbed country as “Golden basket”. Nation has been blessed with an abundance of resources by Allah Almighty, he added.
Meanwhile, high-level stakeholders' summit in Dubai did not deliberate on electoral alliances or seat adjustments for elections rather, it aims to devise unified strategy to address aftermath of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan's fallout, according to several top sources involved. Stalwarts of both Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan Peoples' Party have engaged in closed-door, off-camera sessions and discussed various options aimed at containing and managing public sentiments and ensuring absence of any destabilising void that could potentially undermine civilian governance.
