At World Film Festival in Cannes, film took home awards of 'Best Foreign Film' and 'Best First-Time Filmmaker' in feature film category, which was historic first for Pakistani cinema on worldwide scale. Taking to Instagram, Yumna shared images of triumph. Alongside pictures, star wrote, "Nayab, my real star. Congratulations to entire family of Nayab." Nayab is sports drama that defies genre norms to provide complex examination of human spirit in face of Karachi's socioeconomic difficulties. Film's skill at narrative and commitment of its actors and staff are demonstrated by its Cannes award win.
