Youth should adopt intellectual changes for country’s future: Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi advised youth parliamentary leaders to bring intellectual change, adopt new emerging technologies and remain abreast with fast-paced innovations and inventions, being perpetually made on technological front, to lead country towards progress and prosperity.
President made these remarks during his meeting with members of Youth Parliament at Aiwan-e-Sadr. President said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah accorded high value to youth. Quaid, in one of his address, had said, “Pakistan is proud of her youth, particularly students who are nation builders of tomorrow.
They must fully equip themselves with discipline, education and training for arduous task lying ahead of them”. President urged youth to act upon advice of Quaid as they were duty bound to learn latest techniques and skills in all sectors and embrace changes taking place at intellectual level.
He said youth had required time, energy, patience and dynamism to provide leadership to people of Pakistan towards improving economy, trade and democratic values in country. He said that consultation, democracy and passion coupled with hard work were essential for dealing with issues and challenges faced by country including gigantic task of rehabilitation of over 33 million flood victims.
President said that there was a need to further activate boys and girls, Red Crescent and other institutions to build skills and expertise in youth, so that they could help nation in time of need. He urged young leaders to develop habit of blood donation to enable health system to store it and provide whenever required to save lives of patients.
He emphasised need for young leaders to motivate and encourage women who made up over 50 percent of country’s population to enter into active economic stream and help them to fully utilise schemes and incentives announced by government for uplifting women and youth of country. Later, President awarded mementos to youth leaders on completion of 17 years of Youth Parliament.
