Five years ago, on August 5, 2019, the Indian government broke and violaged all promises which India had made to the entire international community regarding the right of the Kashmiri people to decide their own future in the form of a referendum in the United Nations and the resolutions approved by the international organization.

Yes, by abrogating Article 370 of the Indian Constitution in open violation, India abolished the special status of its occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed region and made it a regular part of India.  Due to this open injustice, the date of August 5 has been declared as Kashmir Exploitation Day. But the United Nations Organization established for the purpose of settling international disputes in accordance with justice and fairness has not taken any action against the boldness of the Narendra Modi government based on the open rigging of the international community's assurances to the Kashmiris. The UN absolutely failed to take any action at any level.

The only reason why the issue of Kashmir has not been resolved through a referendum since the last century is the fear of the Indian rulers to the point of conviction that if the Kashmiris were given the opportunity to join India or Pakistan according to the resolutions of the international organization, then they would be quite clear. It will be in favor of Pakistan. Due to the full understanding of the strong desire of Kashmiris to join Pakistan, during the last several decades, no Indian government was ready to negotiate peacefully with Pakistan for the sake of a fair settlement of the Kashmir dispute.  Instead, attempts were made to crush the spirit of freedom of the Kashmiri people through racist policies and brutal tactics.  Measures were taken to change the population ratio. Even after that, if the result of the referendum was not seen to be in favor of India, then the article of the constitution which guaranteed the special status of Kashmir was blown away. Since then, the state of occupied Jammu and Kashmir has become, in fact, the world's largest prison. Modi government's policies of ethnic and religious bigotry have engulfed not only Kashmir but the whole of India. Muslims and other minorities are victims of Hindu supremacy and racism. Silencing every voice of dissent, intimidation of the political leadership, arbitrarily accusing journalists and political activists of lawlessness and setting up cases against them. These are the tactics of the Modi government which it is boldly using to consolidate its dominance over Kashmir.  False accusations of supporting cross-border terrorism and in this context propaganda against Pakistan and its secret agencies also New Delhi is the norm, the main purpose of which is to mislead the international stakeholders. The boldness of the Indian government has gone so far that it has started making baseless claims on Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and threatening to use force against Pakistan while depriving the Kashmiris of their true leadership.

On the other hand, India's economic capacity has been used as a weapon to keep the international community silent on serious human rights violations in Kashmir.  However, the international community must now decide that the military in Kashmir, the tactics of power and racism will no longer continue and according to the resolutions of the United Nations, the people of Kashmir will be given the right to decide their own future as soon as possible, because if this is not done, the world will remain in darkness and the concept of justice will also disappear. It may be mentioned here that on Aug. 5, the special status of Occupied Kashmir has ended in the previous era of India's Modi government.  Five years ago, the Modi government distorted the shape of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and scattered parts of the basic human rights in Occupied Kashmir and the United Nations Security Council resolutions, not only this, but related to the special status of Occupied Kashmir in the Constitution by abrogating Article 370 and 135A, he put his claws on the neck of the Kashmiri people, but he decided that Occupied Kashmir will no longer be called a disputed and settled state, but a federal territory. The Modi government decided to divide the occupied valley into 2 parts and separate the Jammu and Kashmir valley from Ladakh and Ladakh will also be a federal union territory. Resistance continues in Occupied Kashmir against this decision of the Indian Parliament Rajya Sabha. In fact, it has accelerated to an extraordinary extent. This resistance requires the support of the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. As a result of this, Modi lost more than a hundred seats in the recent elections compared to the past.  It is certain that Pakistan, according to its constitution, needs moral, diplomatic and political support in the struggle to achieve the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

The All-Party Hurriyat Conference, the representative organization of the Kashmiri people, will continue to remind the people of the world and the United Nations organization that giving the right of self-determination to the Kashmiri people is a debt to the United Nations, which will have to be done in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations.  In this great struggle of Kashmiri people, Pakistan is standing by their side. Be the voice of the Kashmiri people, organize public opinion against the Indian action of August 5 so that India cannot succeed in changing the population ratio in Occupied Kashmir.  In this regard, there is a need to intensify the efforts to highlight the dignity of Kashmir at the United Nations and other international forums. The actions of the Indian government and the worst of the brutal Indian forces have not been hidden from anyone, including the torture of women and children since August 5. More or less, more than a thousand Kashmiris have been martyred so far, Kashmiri leader Ashraf was martyred in the desert jail, prominent Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Geelani was also in the list of those who were martyred due to lack of proper treatment facilities in custody. United Nations and the Security Council should take serious note of the fact that Indo-Terrorism is on the rise in Occupied Kashmir. After the implementation of the new domicile law, India has resettled 2 million Indian citizens in the occupied territory in Kashmir and distorted the population ratio. Kashmiris are also being evicted from their native land. Ending the special status of Occupied Kashmir is a despicable plan of the extremist Indian leadership which it wants to achieve, India will never succeed in this effort.
