Yellow metal prices continue upward trend

KARACHI: Yellow metal prices continued to hit new records as weakened economy coupled with continuous depreciation of rupee added to factor. Considered safe haven for investors in times of economic turmoil, yellow metal is almost going out of reach for majority of buyers as it saw another increase of Rs 1,500 per tola.

According to All Pakistan jewellers Association, price of 24-Karat gold reached an all-time high of Rs 210,500 per tola. Similarly, price for 10 grams of 24-Karat gold reached Rs 180,470 per tola after seeing an increase of Rs 1,286 per 10 grams.

Price of 22-Karat gold used in making jewellery reached Rs 192,892 per tola after seeing an increase of Rs 1,374 per tola. In international market, price of one ounce of gold decreased by $ 4 and was being traded for $ 1,924.
