Work continued on two KWSB water lines affected by power breakdown: Spokesman

Karachi: Two 72 inch diameter lines affected due to power breakdown by K Electric at Dhabejee Pumping Station are being repaired and will be completed soon, KWSB spokesperson said.

Power breakdown occurred at Dhabejee Pumping Station at 10:25am was restored at 1:40pm, according to spokesman. Line number one PRRC and line number five at Dhabejee Pumping Station were affected due to power breakdown. On instructions of CEO KWSB Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, Chief Engineer Bulk, SE Bulk, EE Gharo Division and Water Board officials reached Dhabejee Pumping Station and after inspection  work started on affected lines.

CEO KWSB said that restoration work of both affected lines should be completed on an emergency basis, so that citizens do not face any difficulty. Chief Engineer Bulk KWSB said that repair work of line number one PRRC will be completed in next four days while repair work of line number five will be completed in next twenty four hours. He said that pumps are running less due to affected lines while water supply to city continues through alternative system.
