ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said women play pivotal role in fight against extremism. Addressing launching ceremony of “Dukhtaran-e-Pakistan Training Manual” at International Islamic University here, Ahsan said today world is acknowledging role of women in peace building in a society.

Minister said Pakistan has paid a huge cost of terrorism. He said our nation, armed forces, police and law enforcement agencies rendered huge sacrifices to curb menace of terrorism. Ahsan Iqbal called for accepting pluralism in society to promote co-existence.

He stressed on inculcating spirit of tolerance. Earlier Chairperson National Commission on Status of Women Nilofar Bakhtiar said women are half of country’s population and can play an important role in development and progress. She urged participants to play their part in curbing violence from society.
