Women role predominant in building strong Pakistan: Speakers at CAP moot

Karachi: Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) organised Joint event on International Consumers’ Day and International Women’s Day. Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister of Women Development Department Syeda Shahla Raza, Minister of Archeology and Logistics Tariq Hassan attended.
MPA Mangala Sharma, Chairman CAP Kaukab Iqbal, Chairperson CAP Women Wing Syeda Raafia Mamunji, CEO Essa Laboratory Professor Dr. Farhan Essa, Vice President Sindh Supreme Court Bar Association Javed Ahmed Chhatari, Hon. Consul General Morocco Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, Honorary Consul General of Yemen Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Consul General of Indonesia Dr. June Kuncoro Hadeningrat and others also present.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that women have played an important role since establishment of Pakistan to construction of Pakistan. He said that Fatima Jinnah, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, Dakhtar Mashrekh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Sherien Rehman, Hina Rabbani Khar, Maleeha Lodhi, Fatima Suriya Bijia, Sultana Siddiqui, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Samina Baig, Arfaah Karim, Maryam Mokhtiar and other women have been prominent in every sphere of life and played outstanding role in every field.
He said that women are an important part of society and it is responsibility of all of us to empower them as they are endowed with God-given abilities and now women are being given importance in every field across world. He said that no country can develop without women while population of women in our country is more than 52 percent if they are allowed to work with dignity in every field of life from education to employment without any harassment. They can play their full role in development and prosperity of Pakistan.
Shehla Raza said that Allah Almighty has made woman His example, whether she is mother, daughter, sister or wife, love, sincerity and sacrifice are seen in every role. He said that what we are standing here today is only because of mother’s dedication and sacrifice, because mother’s lap is best training ground. She said that is why it is said that behind every successful person there is woman’s hand. And there is no field where women have not proved their talents. She said that I am happy to give award attributed to Ms Shaheed Bibi and I hope that considering her services women will do outstanding services in every field.
Tariq Hasan said that Pakistani women are capable and leading in various fields of life. By empowering women, country can be included in list of developed countries. Tariq Hassan said that way women have been empowered in China and other developed countries. Similarly, there is need to provide opportunities to Pakistani women so that country can be economically stable.
Kaukab Iqbal said that this event has been organised to celebrate International Women Day and Consumer Rights Day in which consumers, product manufacturing companies and women who have performed prominently in various fields of life for their services have been honoured attributed with Ms. Fatima Jinnah, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan and Dakhtar Mashrekh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
He said that CAP has been providing services for protection of consumer rights for past thirty years, due to which Consumer Courts have been established in Sindh, Punjab and other provinces of country including Karachi, through which consumers’ rights are protected.
