Will talk to anyone, can’t stop trying to hold talks: Alvi

Lahore: Former President Dr. Arif Alvi has stated that dialogue is only solution for betterment of country and said he will talk to anyone, insisting that he wants to hold talks and will keep inviting relevant people for purpose.
Speaking to media here, Dr Alvi said he could not stop trying to hold talks, adding that he had been playing role of bridge and was ready to play that role further.
“My failure is to accept failure,” Dr Alvi stated. Furthermore, Dr Alvi informed media that he had held meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, adding that former Prime Minister had sacrificed his ego. “We have always defended Army and will continue to do so,” Arif Alvi stressed.
Moreover, he said freedom of media was golden option for Pakistan’s survival, adding that if media was free, timely information could be provided to masses. “Do not hesitate to tell truth, but avoid telling lies,” he remarked, adding that rumours always destabilised country.
Former President said that allegations of six judges of Islamabad High Court were appropriate, adding that court had always been kept open so that all processes were transparent. “Justice will be delivered only when judiciary is independent,” Alvi stressed.
