With premiere of Tich Button around corner, media is overshadowed with controversy surrounding film’s cast. On October 22, Sonya Hussyn sent film’s producer Urwa Hocane a legal notice that demanded Rs 5 million in damages for not paying actress’s full dues.
Now, Udaari actress appeared on a local TV show and openly discussed Sonya’s claims. On being asked about recent notice, Urwa termed it as a “misunderstanding” and proceeded to urge actress to “discuss it in person”. She said, “I was unaware that Sonya had sent any notice.
I mean I am just a call away, so why not discuss in person? We have been working together for quite some time, so I believe speaking to each other and figuring things out should have been done. I am pretty sure there is some misunderstanding.” Mushq actress questioned Sonya’s decision, explaining how issue could have been resolved “maturely” without undermining project.
“We are mature enough to know how to resolve an issue. Why sabotage a project this way? I know process has become obnoxiously longer but we should understand and clear out misunderstanding,” she added. On other hand, Sonya remains steadfast in her decision and is still reportedly not attending any of film’s promotional campaigns.
In legal notice shared with The Express Tribune, Ishq Zahe Naseeb actress mentioned Urwa “entered into a contractual” agreement with her but did not pay entire amount at end of film’s completion.–Agencies
