KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh demanded of federal government to take immediate action against K Electric for terminating services of large number employees.

In his letter to Federal Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan, he expressed concern on ongoing process of sacking of K Electric employees.

He wrote that large number of K Electric employees, especially employees from Sindh have been terminated without any reason or forced to resign. He demanded federal government should pay immediate attention to legitimate sufferings of employees and take measures.

Imtiaz Sheikh also wrote that at time when people of Sindh are worried about their livelihood due to flood disasters, termination of such number of K-Electric employees and workers without fulfilling any legal regulations would further increase burden of sufferings and hardships of people.

He suggested that workable solution to this issues be found by holding meeting in presence of Federal Energy Minister. He said that in meantime, Sindh Energy Department in consultation with Labour Department is setting up a cell to redress grievances of K Electric employees and workers. Cell received requests of K Electric employees. “Legal action will be taken on sacked workers’ complaints,” he added.
