Whoever found involved in road cutting, encroachments will be dealt with iron hands: DC Taha

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner and administrator District Central Taha Saleem said that any kind of illegal activities including illegal road cutting and encroachment will not be tolerated in district. He issued instructions for taking immediate action against those involved in road cutting and encroaching government land despite ban in North Nazimabad KDA Chowrangi to Board Office North Nazimabad.
Such activities should be stopped and legal action be taken against elements so that in future no individual or organisation to dare involve in road cutting without permission. Sindh government is carrying out rehabilitation work to provide better civic facilities to people of central district and is spending lot of funds on various development projects in this regard. Work on four development projects costing Rs 350 million is going on while KMC rain emergency funds are being used to rebuild and repair main highways damaged in rains including Pakistan Highway from Karimabad to Karimabad.
Usman Memorial Hospital Liaquatabad 10 no Road maintenance work is underway at various places including highway, while under mega project work on highway with UBL complex along with maintenance of all roads on routes of Peoples' Bus Service, construction of Noorjahan highway, Namak Bank to Peoples' Chowrangi Road is underway. Taha said that network of roads is being laid in district in next few months and a change will be seen in district. He said regarding municipal tax it is being collected according to rates approved by Sindh government. No one can change this tax at will. However, quarterly and half-yearly payment facilities are being provided for convenience of taxpayers, he added.
