Well-known poet Ajmal Siraj laid to rest amid tears

Karachi: Renowned poet and journalist Ajmal Siraj who passed away after prolonged illness was laid to rest in Korangi graveyard yesterday.

According to family, 56-year-old Ajmal Siraj was suffering from lung disease. While confirming death of poet Ajmal Siraj from family, it has been said that he died in private hospital. Funeral prayer of Ajmal Siraj offered yesterday after Asr prayer at Tayyaba Mosque, Zaman Town Korangi which was attended by large number of friends from journalist and literary community, poets, political personalities and others. President Arts Council of Pakistan Ahmed Shah has expressed his deep condolences with family of poet Siraj and prayed may Allah place departed soul best place in Jannah and grant courage to bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss. Ajmal Siraj’s contributions to poetry and journalism were significant, and his passing is loss to literary community.

His work often resonated with many, capturing both beauty and challenges of life. Among his friends who attended funeral prayers were Mubeen Mirza, Shakeel Khan, Allauddin Khanzada, Javed Saba, Fazil Jamili, Khawaja Razi, Haider, Tauqeer, Shabbir Ali, Khursheed, Akbar Hussain, Tabeer Agahi, Shahid Rassam, Zafar Ullah Khan Bhopali, Akhtar Saeedi and others.
