Weather turns pleasant, Karachi receives intermittent rains in some parts

KARACHI: Weather in city turned pleasant afternoon as some parts of metropolis received intermittent rainfall. Aareas that witnessed rain include old city, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, Malir, Airport, Quaidabad, Federal B Area and Tariq Road. 

Earlier yesterday, Pakistan Metrological Department said some parts of city will receive rain with thunderstorm despite prediction of hot and humid weather. “There is likelihood of rain with thunderstorm in some parts of Karachi after noon,” said Met Office, adding that there may be light and moderate rain in some places. Department added that weather is expected to remain hot and humid in next 24 hours. Minimum temperature recorded in city was 30°C, said PMD, adding maximum temperature is likely to hover between 35°C to 37°C. “Percentage of humidity in the air is 59 percent,” it added. National Disaster Management Authority issued an urban flooding warning for Karachi, Hyderabad and other areas of Sindh in light of expected heavy rains across province.
