ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Aamer Farooq has remarked it is in national interest that missing persons issue is resolved.  “We are human being first and then judge or IG. If government has to do nothing then we quash these cases, he gave these remarks during hearing of the petitions regarding recovery of missing persons including Mudassar Naro here. 

Emman Zeb Mazari, counsel for missing persons told court Prime Minister held out assurances by appearing in this court. Report was to be filed in court from PM side today.  Additional Attorney General (AAG) told court Cabinet constituted a committee and meetings were held.  Court inquired meetings go on taking place.

What was outcome of meetings.  AAG told court committee became dysfunctional after resignation from Azam Nazir Tarar. CJ IHC remarked new law minister has come. How did committee become dysfunctional. If government changes tomorrow then will committee stand abolished. Former chief justice has gone then should this case be quashed. If government has to do nothing then tell us we quash these cases. What efforts have been made in these cases. 

Court remarked all cases are pending hearing since last two years. How much more time is needed. CJ IHC Aamer Farooq remarked it is in national interest that matter of missing persons should be addressed. Court adjourned hearing of case.
