ISLAMABAD: IMF Chief Advisor Pakistan Nathan Porter has said IMF authorities are trying for board meeting before end of current programme in June this year. Many people are of view that programme has been finished despite programme has to continue for one month.
We are aware of political developments in Pakistan so we don’t give opinion on local political situation. In statement, IMF Chief Advisor Pakistan Nathan Porter has said IMF authority is in contact with Pakistan authority. Budget of 2024 will be focused in conversation with Pakistan authority.
Conversation with Pakistan authority is related to increasing foreign exchange reserves and running market freely. He further added, next annual financial budget will be in according to IMF programme targets.
Programme targets and proper financing managements are also part of conversation. Increasing tax collections and reducing losses of government companies are very important. This way more financial resources will become available to government.
He said regarding current situation of Pakistan, we hope that peaceful solution will be found soon according to Constitution and law.
