Waseemuddin Hashmi chairs first meeting of Mixed Martial Arts Management Committee of Pakistan

KARACHI: The first meeting of the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Management Committee was held in Pakistan Olympic House Lahore under the Chairman of the Committee and Individual Member of the Pakistan Olympic Association Syed Waseemuddin Hashmi, the Deputy Chairman of the committee Muhammad Khalid Mahmood (Secretary General Pakistan Olympic Association) Secretary Muhammad Jahangir (Chairman Pakistan Karate Federation), Deputy Secretary and Lt Col (Rtd) Muhammad Nasir Ejaz Tang (Secretary General Pakistan Boxing Federation).

 While the members include Murtaza Hasan Bangash (Secretary General Pakistan Taekwondo Federation), Major (Retd) Mahmood Riaz (Manager Sports Karachi Port Trust), Ms. Ambreen Iftikhar (Secretary General Pakistan Wushu Federation), Ms. Samira Sattar (Lady Executive Member POA), Muhammad Osman Masood and Coordinator Muhammad Imran Khan participated in the meeting. Under the directives and constitution of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association and the Olympic Council of Asia and the formation of the National Mixed Martial Arts Federation, various issues were considered in detail in the meeting and all matters related to Mixed Martial Arts were resolved amicably.

 The formation of various committees and the names of their members were approved, under which the names of the Convener of the Constitutional Committee, Syed Waseemuddin Hashmi, Secretary Muhammad Khalid Mahmood and Lt. Col. (retd) Muhammad Nasir Ejaz Tang are included.

While the names of Muhammad Jahangir, Chairman and Lieutenant Colonel (R) Muhammad Nasir Ejaz Tang were approved for the National Selection Committee, while the names of other members will be included in the meeting after consultation with the representatives of the provinces and approval from the Chairman Mixed Martial Arts Management Committee.  In a meeting held at the Singapore Convention and Exhibition Center of the Mixed Martial Arts Association, Colonel (Retd) Mohammad Nasir Ijaz Tang of Pakistan was congratulated for being elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association.
