LAHORE: Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz has finally taken charge of his office, nearly two months after he was appointed as advisor to Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on sports and youth affairs. Yesterday, Wahab walked into his office at National Hockey Stadium in the provincial capital for the first time and held a meeting with ace Javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem.
Earlier, secretary sports Punjab Shahid Zaman and DG sports Mohammad Tariq Qureshi briefed the newly-appointed advisor about the sports affairs in the province. On the occasion, Wahab resolved to take every possible step for the development of sports in the most populous province of the country. “We will make sure to utilise all the resources and take all stakeholders on board,” he added. Commonwealth Games gold medalist Arshad Nadeem called on the caretaker sports advisor on the latter’s first day in office as the two discuss the issues faced by the athletes in Punjab.
