Visit Indonesia: IU signs accord with University of UAI

Karachi: Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi initiated and facilitated establishment of Iqra University’s collaboration with 7 universities in Indonesia namely Al Azhar Indonesia University, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Telkom University, UNDIKNAS University Bali and University of Udayana Bali since last November.

As form of realisation of this plan, leaders of Iqra University and team visited 3 largest cities Jakarta, Bandung and Bali to sign MoU directly on 2-8 December 2022. On first day of visit Prof. Dr. Wasim Qazi President/Vice Chancellor of Iqra University (IU) signed Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Ir. Ade Jamal, Vice Rector IV for Information and Corporation of UAI was witnessed directly by Prof. Dr. Zaki Rashidi and other IU delegations as well as UAI vice-chancellors and faculty leaders. Virtually present UAI Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. Asep Saifuddin, M.Sc and Indonesian Consul General,

Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat. Consul General Dr. June Kuncoro Hadingrat expressed his high appreciation for this collaboration. He emphasised importance of collaboration between two largest Muslim countries in world, especially starting with collaboration of young generation of two countries with full support from universities. Indonesian Consul General is committed to continuing to assist in realisation of cooperation between UAI and UI. Vice-chancellor of IU and Chancellor of UAI have both agreed on form of collaboration and its realisation will begin early next year.

In 2023, two universities agreed that to jointly commemorate the anniversary, they will hold joint activities such as conferences, seminars and student exchanges through scholarship schemes and teacher exchanges. Indonesia and Pakistan have quality educational institutions recognised by world rankings.
