Veteran actor Mazhar Ali passes away after prolonged illness

Renowned Pakistani actor Mazhar Ali has passed away after a prolonged battle with lung disease. The versatile actor, known for his memorable roles in popular dramas like ‘Aroosa’ and ‘Afshan’.

Mazhar Ali’s family, who currently reside in Canada, confirmed the news of his death. He had left an indelible mark on the television industry with his impressive range of performances across various genres.

Fans and colleagues from the entertainment industry are mourning the loss of the veteran actor, whose contributions to Pakistani drama will be remembered for years to come. Mazhar Ali’s funeral prayers will be offered at Maghreb prayers. Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Shah expressed condolences on his death.

Born on February 25, 1958 in Karachi, Mazhar Ali started his career with ‘Afshan’ and ‘Aroosa’, and later worked in shows like ‘Shaheen’, ‘Kali Deemak’, ‘Kaanch ki Guriya’, ‘Girah’ and ‘Haala’ among others that shot him to popularity.

Mazhar Ali, who ruled hearts with his excellent acting skills, bade goodbye to the showbiz industry in 2006. He was suffering from heart and lung diseases for some time and returned to Pakistan from Canada some time ago.
