KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) issued notice to Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head SSP Fida Hussain Janwari in case against Lyari gang war kingpin Uzair Baloch. ATC heard explosive material and attempt murder case against Uzair Baloch. Prosecution requested ATC to summon JIT head Senior Superintendent Police Fida Hussain Janwari as witness in case.

Court accepted prosecution’s request and issued notice to SSP Janwari. Senior police officer was directed to appear in next hearing along with report. Later, court adjourned hearing till February 14.

In January, Baloch and co-accused Zakir Dada had been acquitted by ATC  due to lack of evidence.

Uzair Baloch and co-accused Zakir dada were accused of attacking policemen with intention to kill during an operation against criminals in Lyari. Prosecution failed to provide evidence against Baloch which led court to decide on his acquittal. Uzair Baloch  also secured bail in two more cases over “Lack of evidence” against him in December 2022.
