Ushna Shah discusses experience with face blindness

Ushna Shah disclosed that she has condition known as prosopagnosia, commonly referred to as face blindness. This condition affects her ability to easily recognise faces and remember names of people she has met.
As one of Pakistan’s leading actresses, Ushna has showcased her remarkable talent and she has been candid about challenges she faces due to this condition.
During an episode of her own show, Ushna elaborated on how prosopagnosia has impacted her professional life. She shared particularly telling anecdote about not being able to recognise an actress she frequently encountered at gym.
Actress, Akhter Husnain, had played her uncle in drama ‘Aakhir Kab Tak.’ After mistakenly believing he was an animal abuser due to misinformation, she avoided speaking to him. It wasn’t until four months later, on set, that she realised he was same person she had been seeing at gym.
Ushna revealed she struggles with remembering addresses and can easily get lost if she strays just two blocks away from location. Interestingly, she mentioned that her mother also experiences this condition, indicating possible genetic link.
By sharing her experiences, Ushna aims to raise awareness about prosopagnosia and its effects on daily life. Her openness about this personal challenge highlights not only her resilience but also importance of understanding and empathy for those facing similar issues. As she continues to navigate her career in entertainment industry, Ushna remains source of inspiration for many.
