ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided to use modern technology in next general elections and launched district-level survey on internet and other issues. Election Commission of Pakistan continued its preparations for next general elections and decided to use modern technology for polls. Commission initiated survey to identify internet and other technical issues in its district offices.
Commission acquired services of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited for use of modern technology. ECP spokesperson said in statement that modern equipment will be installed at offices of all district election commissioners.
Relevant election officers will be given access to electoral system upgration and internet. Commission directed district election commissioners to cooperate with PTCL teams. Sources told that use of modern technology will assist commission to get timely results in next general elections. ECP also sent copies of its letter to Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s offices.
