ISLAMABAD: United States Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome said US wholeheartedly supports steps taken by Pakistan for IMF programme.

“We want IMF and Pakistan deal is struck, Donald Bloom said this during his brief talk with journalists on launch of 4-year fertilizer rights between US and Pakistan here.

Earlier programme was launched between America and Pakistan for better and effective use of fertilizer by cultivators. Donald Bloom inaugurated four years ‘Fertilizer Right’ programme. Under this US will spend $ 4.5 million on imparting training to Pakistani farmers in utilisation of fertilizer in effective way.

‘Fertilizer Right’ project is strategy for Pak-US unity. Lesser use of fertilizer will help in lessening emission of Nitrous Oxide.

Addressing Agriculture Research Council, Donald Bloom said technical cooperation on agriculture between Pakistan and United States began in 1960. We are extending cooperation to Pakistan on food security issue.  He held Russia-Ukrain crisis led to surge in fertilizers’ price. Pakistani farmers are facing problems since last 18 months. Training has to be provided to farmers on better use of fertilizers. Project objective is to make possible more production out of use of less fertilizers.

Further US envoy said Pakistan is facing terrorism threats and we are fully prepared to help Pakistan in this regard.
