US, Iran, UAE condemn assassination bid on IK

WASHINGTON: United States condemns assassination attempt on former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and wishes a speedy recovery to all those injured in attack, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said.

“United States strongly condemns attack on Imran Khan and his supporters and hopes for swift recovery of all who were injured. Violence has no place in politics. We call on all parties to remain peaceful and refrain from violence,” Jean-Pierre said during a press briefing.

United Arab Emirates and Iran strongly condemn attack on former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan during long march. In a statement Nasser Kan ani, spokesperson of Iranian foreign ministry condemned assassination attempt against former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Foreign ministry spokesperson also prayed to Almighty God for speedy recovery of former prime minister and others injured in incident. On other hand, UAE also strongly condemned attempted assassination of Imran Khan, former Prime Minister, expressing its solidarity and stance alongside Pakistan and its people in face of violence and terrorism. In a statement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) affirmed that UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts aimed at destabilising security and stability and in contravention of human values and principles.
