New York: Excitement surrounding US presidential election is at its peak, with over 73 million early votes already cast, according to reports by American media.
Polls show close race between candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, with only one to two-point margin separating two. In key swing states, Trump currently leads in five out of seven states, including Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Harris, meanwhile, is ahead in Michigan and Wisconsin. Both candidates have equal chances of winning pivotal states like Nevada and Pennsylvania, making outcome increasingly uncertain as Election Day approaches.
Country and world could then face nail-biting wait to know whether Harris becomes first US woman President or Trump secures spectacular return to power after his unprecedented and at times violent campaign to overturn his 2020 reelection loss to Joe Biden.
Rivals literally crossed paths, with Harris’s official vice presidential Air Force Two and Trump’s personal jet sharing airport tarmac in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Both held rallies in North Carolina, while Harris also spoke to supporters in Georgia, another of seven swing states seen as keys to victory in an otherwise dead-even nationwide contest. Trump added in stop in Virginia.
Rounds of high-stakes speeches before thousands of people at each stop continue Sunday when Harris holds multiple events in swing state of Michigan and Trump rallies with supporters in Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
