UN COP-27 announces to give Vice Presidency to PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: 27th UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP-27) has announced to give its Vice Presidency to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Pakistan has got this global distinction out of 195 members of United Nations. Presidency of COP-27 is with Egypt. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has also invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to jointly chair COP-27 meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Norway and Egyptian President will jointly chair roundtable conference.

COP-27 meeting is beginning in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt from 6th of next month which will be attended by world leaders, heads of governments and representatives of think tanks and international financial institutions.

\Shehbaz Sharif has been entrusted Vice Presidency for being an effective voice on climate change. In wake of recent floods, Prime Minister forcefully raised issue of climate change at SCO Summit and 77th session of UN General Assembly in New York.
