United Nation: UN Chief Antonio Guterres has said, “Hearts are breaking for Palestinians in Gaza” and conflict is “Wound” that could affect whole region, Al Jazeera reported.

Speaking at summit of League of Arab States, he said, “In its speed and scale, it is deadliest conflict in my time as Secretary General-for civilians, aid workers, journalists and our own UN colleagues.” “I reiterate my call for immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. And nothing can justify collective punishment of Palestinian people,” he emphasised.

“Yet toll on civilians continues to escalate. Entire families wiped out. Children traumatised and injured for life. People denied access to very basics for human survival.

A looming famine.” Meamwhile, Hamas says rejects any military presence on Palestinian land Hamas has issued statement saying US-built pier off Gaza Strip is no alternative to opening all land crossings under Palestinian supervision, adding that it rejects any military presence on Palestinian land, Reuters reported.

On other hand, World Health Organisation has said it received no medical supplies in Gaza Strip for 10 days as Israel pursues new offensive against Hamas, AFP reported. Israel’s closure of Rafah crossing into Gaza has caused “Difficult situation”, WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic said.

“Last medical supplies that we got in Gaza was before May 6.” Jasarevic said biggest concern was over fuel needed to keep clinics and hospitals running. Gaza’s health facilities need up to 1.8 million litres of fuel per month to keep operating.

Spokesman said only 159,000 litres had entered Rafah since border closure. “This is clearly not sufficient,” he added, highlighting how only 13 out of 36 hospitals across Palestinian territory are now “Partially” operating.

On other hand, as one of Israel’s counsel at International Court of Justice, Tamar Kaplan Tourgman read her client’s final submission, person inside court shouted “Liar”, Al Jazeera reported.

“State of Israel requests court to reject request for modification and indication of provisional measures submitted by Republic of South Africa,” Tourgman’s statement said.
