Singer-turned-actor Umair Jaswal has announced that he is no longer essaying celebrated bowler, Shoaib Akhtar in latter's upcoming biopic, Rawalpindi Express. Jaswal cited 'creative and personal' reasons for stepping away from much-awaited project.  "Due to creative and personal reasons I have decided to step away from Shoaib Akhtar biopic project, Rawalpindi Express," singer announced on social media. "I will no longer be associated with any media or news related to this project. Wishing everyone involved all best," he added.

In November, Jaswal was reported to star as former cricketer in upcoming biopic. Project will focus on fast bowler's life on professional and personal front.

Jaswal had confirmed that he will be playing leading role in motion picture. With an immersive storyline, film is tribute to celebrated cricketer, Akhtar.  When asked about how feels about casting Jaswal for role, director Faraz Qaiser said, "Film will span from 1975 to 2002 and requires physical transformation to be shown by an actor. Umair Jaswal perfectly fits role as he is sports and fitness enthusiast and has worked on his body and fitness level for several months."
