UAE sends more relief aid flights to flood victims

Karachi: Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi UAE’s Ambassador to Pakistan said first Emirati relief aid plane flew to Pakistan and will be followed by several more in coming days to provide support. Relief aid includes 3,000 tonnes of food, shelter materials, humanitarian needs and medical parcels. UAE’s Ministry of Defense represented by Joint Operations Command is overseeing delivery of relief aid from Emirates.
Crisis has forced government to declare a state of emergency, mobilise Army for relief efforts and call for international assistance. Earlier UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed talked to PM Shehbaz Sharif and assured his all-out support in relief and rehabilitation for flood affectees. UAE’s solidarity is with government and people of Pakistan and all possible assistance underway to Pakistan to tackle this natural calamity. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed wished a speedy recovery for the injured and quick return of displaced to their areas, praying to Allah Almighty to protect Pakistan.
