UAE govt will continue to serve people, says Consul General

Karachi: United Arab Emirates consulate in Karachi organised an event on thalassemia awareness with support of Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation, said a press release issued.
Sindh Minister Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Memon and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah attended event. UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi was also present. Renowned actor Javed Sheikh, industrialist Zubair Motiwala and citizens also attended ceremony. Information Minister Memon praised efforts of Afzaal Thalassemia Foundation and said it was serving patients suffering from diseases like thalassemia across province. He thanked UAE government, especially Consul General, saying that UAE Consulate was engaged in welfare work in Sindh.
Nasir Hussain Shah said awareness event was important. He said thalassemia is fatal disease, which was spreading rapidly and there was need to provide free treatment facilities to patients. Minister said he was grateful to UAE government and prayed that Allah Almighty may increase courage of supporters of Afzaal Foundation so that free treatment facilities for thalassemia patients could continue.
Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi said Pakistan is our second home and UAE government will continue to serve people of Pakistan. At end of ceremony, CG presented commemorative shields to provincial ministers.
