UAE commits $10bn investment to bolster Pakistan’s economy
In meeting with PM Shehbaz, UAE President greenlights big investment

Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates (UAE) has committed to invest an additional $ 10 billion in Pakistan.
Announcement was made following high-level meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan here.
During one-on-one discussion, which took place after round table conference, both leaders engaged in comprehensive talks on matters of mutual interest, exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan and deliberating on global and regional issues.
Both leaders exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest including regional and global developments. Prime Minister reiterated his invitation to UAE President for an official visit to Pakistan. UAE President accepted invitation. Moreover, Shehbaz Sharif is expected to visit China next month.
PM is likely to undertake China visit from June 4-7, said sources. PM Shehbaz harif will hold meetings with Chinese President and Prime Minister during his four-day state visit, they say, adding that matters related to CPEC phase-II and other issues would come under discussion.
If happened, this would be PM Shehbaz’s first visit to Beijing since assuming his office after February 8 general elections. Pakistan and China have agreed to accelerate implementation of projects under CPEC in different sectors.
