Two terrorists killed in North Waziristan IBO: ISPR

Rawalpindi: At least two terrorists were killed in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) launched by security forces in general area Dossali of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district on reported presence of militants, military said. During conduct of operation, intense fire exchange occurred between security forces and terrorists, resulting in killing of two terrorists, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in statement.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed terrorists who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.
Sanitisation of area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in area, military’s media wing further said. Locals of area appreciated operation and expressed their full support to eliminate menace of terrorism, it added. Meanwhile, terrorists opened fire on security forces guarding polio vaccination team in Spinwam area of North Waziristan district, martyring one soldier and leaving another injured. According to military’s media wing, terrorists attempted to disrupt ongoing polio campaign by firing on members of polio team in Spinwam. Security forces deputed to provide protection to polio worker effectively engaged terrorists, ensuring safety of all members and extricating them unharmed.
“During ensuing fire exchange between security forces and terrorists, Sepoy Saqib Ur Rehman (age 25 years, resident of District Mardan) sacrificed his life in line of duty, embracing Shahadat [martyrdom],” Inter-Services Public Relations said in press release.
