Two guards killed as MPA’s son survives attack

QUETTA: Two security guards embraced martyrdom and one injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Noshman area of Balochistan’s Dhadar tehsil in Kachhi district, targeting convoy of Sardar Khan Rind son of PTI MPA Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind.

Dhadar Assistant Commissioner Fahad Shah Rashdi confirmed that IED was planted on roadside when it detonated. At time, MPA’s son, along with his convoy was travelling to Dhadar Town.

Sardar Khan Rind remained unhurt in attack while injured guard was admitted to Civil Hospital Dhadar. Bodies of martyred guards were transferred to same hospital as well.

Following blast, number of police, levies and other security personnel reached scene and cordoned off area. In statement, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned blast and expressed his grief over martyrdom of two security guards in terrorist attack.

Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Almighty that MPA’s son remained unharmed in attack and directed law enforcement agencies to use all resources at their disposal to bring elements involved in explosion to justice. He said terrorists wanted to create an atmosphere of fear and panic in Balochistan.

Chief Minister pledged that law and order in province would be maintained at any cost. Bizenjo extended his condolences and sympathies to families of martyred security guards.
