SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: At least two police personnel were martyred and two were injured after unknown gunmen attacked Raghzai Police Station-Tehsil Birmal of South Waziristan during early morning hours, police reported. According to sources, martyred police officials were identified as Hameedullah and Farmanullah. Attackers also stole a vehicle along with government-issued arms and also set a police vehicle on fire. There was an exchange of fire as police retaliated to attack, causing fear and panic in area.

Earlier, two soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom when their convoy came under attack by terrorists in Hassan Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province’s North Waziristan district. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Own troops initiated a prompt response, effectively engaged and killed three terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from terrorists.”
