WASHINGTON: Kamala Harris and Donald Trump began frantic last push across US swing states, with less than 48 hours of campaigning left to secure decisive edge in bitterly fought and historically close presidential election.

“Fate of our nation is in your hands. On Tuesday, you have to stand up,” Trump told his first rally of day in Pennsylvania, where he doubled down on unfounded claims of election rigging.

In ad, Harris pledges to be “President for all Americans” and promises to “Build brighter future for our nation.”

United States election 2024 (US Elections 2024) can be analysed through various numerical aspects, including swing states, Electoral College votes, candidates across ballot and millions of potential voters.

Number of independent candidates participated, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. notably attracting significant media attention. Ultimately, presidential contest presents binary decision, as two principal candidates from major parties-Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump-aim to lead divided nation.

November 5 marks Election Day, which is traditionally observed on Tuesday following first Monday in November. There are seven swing states, which do not distinctly favour either party, making them competitive territories.

Both Harris and Trump are actively engaging voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, focusing their campaign strategies in these areas to secure win.  In closely contested election, mere handful of votes in any of these states could determine final result.

On Election Day, voters will not only select next President but will also refresh composition of US Congress. Thirty-four Senate seats and all 435 positions in House of Representatives are available for election.

Electoral College, an indirect system of universal suffrage that governs presidential elections in United States, comprises 538 electors.
