TWG to discuss sexual and gender-based violence processes, PMF

Karachi: The Legal Aid Society (LAS) moderated Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings on the Performance Management Framework (PMF) and Assessment of SBGV Processes.

The Technical Working Groups have been notified as per the recommendations of the Multi Sectoral-Coordination Committee (MSCC) under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Sindh, and is working to strengthen the state’s response to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in the province through a roadmap proposed in Sexual Violence Response Framework (SVRF) 2020-2024.

TWG on PMF was chaired by Additional Secretary, Home Department, Government of Sindh (GoS) – Shumaila Siddiqui and attended by members of the GoS such as Deputy Secretary, Law Department Sindh – Abdul Samad Samo, District Public Prosecutor, Criminal Prosecution Department – Anwar Mahar, Police Surgeon Karachi, Health Department – Dr. Summaiya Syed, Superintendent Complaints & Enquiries, Sindh Human Rights Commission – Adnan Ali Khaskheli, Associate Director, Legal Aid Society – Maliha Zia. The chair commenced the meeting by welcoming all the members. District Public Prosecutor (DPP) informed in the meeting that PMF for Prosecution department has been shared and suggested that it should be presented in two-page overview to the Prosecutor General for his approval.

During the meeting LAS representative shared the data received from DIG Hyderabad and DIG South on proposed Performance Management Framework indicators for the police. The indicators included gap between FIR & Incident, gap between FIR & 161 statement, gap b/w FIR & ML examination, gap b/w medical examination & DNA, and gap between FIR & challan submission.
