Turkiye’s investors shows keen interest in investments in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Pacaci said that Turkish investors have shown keen interest in making substantial investments in Pakistan, especially in mining, equipment manufacturing, paper products, pharmaceutical sector and special economic zones.
Mehmet Pacaci in meeting with Tahir Javed Special Assistant to Prime Minister/Minister of State on investment at Board of Investment (BOI) expressed Turkiye’s keen interest in making substantial investments in Pakistan, particularly focusing on mining, appliance manufacturing, paper products, pharmaceutical sector and clusters of Special Economic Zones.
He emphasised commitment of leading Turkish companies including Lemak, Dolcer, Turkish Contractors Association, Arcelik, Zorlo, Alberic and Pak Yetiram, which have already invested in Pakistan.
Ambassador reaffirmed Turkiye’s readiness for joint ventures in various investment sectors, citing Pakistan’s vast potential in these areas. He highlighted extensive research conducted on Pakistan’s investment landscape and expressed Turkiye’s readiness to invest significantly.
He mentioned 46 Turkish contracting companies keen on investing in Pakistan, expressing desire to increase their share in infrastructure investments and emphasising potential for collaboration in construction sector. He showed his keenness for road shows in three major cities of Turkiye. During their talks, both parties emphasised deep religious, cultural, political, economic and social ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
Tahir Javed hoped to enhance Turkiye and Pakistan economic and trade cooperation to strengthen bilateral ties. He echoed these sentiments, expressing Pakistan’s openness to Turkish investment.
He emphasised future potential areas for strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in business and investment.
He welcomed Turkiye’s interest in investing and encouraged increased collaboration in various sectors, including infrastructure and construction, to bolster economic cooperation between two nations.
However, he said that we need your help to bring new investments in shape of new companies from Turkiye.
Minister ensured that as you have already made your considerations in SIFC, in this regard there will be full support from Minister’s office.
