ISLAMABAD: The Chairperson of Pegasus Airlines and the business organization Hitit, Ms. Nur Gokman, met with Abdul Aleem Khan, the Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications, to discuss enhancing business-to-business (B2B) relations between Turkey and Pakistan.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in various industries, including aviation. Ms. Gokman shared her organization's keen interest in expanding its presence in Pakistan, highlighting that Hitit, with a significant market share and partnerships with over 70 major airlines, is looking to make substantial investments in the country. She expressed her company's enthusiasm for increasing business ventures and was hopeful that Pakistan would provide the right environment for further growth. In response, Minister Abdul Aleem Khan welcomed the proposal, emphasizing the long-standing and friendly relations between Turkey and Pakistan. He noted that the people of both nations share strong cultural and historical ties, which create a natural foundation for enhancing bilateral trade and investment.

The Minister acknowledged the importance of fostering such connections, particularly through B2B activities, which could open up new avenues for collaboration in various sectors. Minister Khan also highlighted the ongoing efforts by Pakistan to implement large-scale reforms aimed at encouraging foreign investment. He reassured Ms. Gokman and her team that the government is focused on improving various sectors, especially communications, and providing a conducive environment for international investors. He emphasized that these reforms are designed to make Pakistan an attractive destination for businesses, offering opportunities for growth and investment. Furthermore, the Minister expressed his support for Ms. Gokman's company and its efforts to invest in Pakistan, noting that her organization's collaboration with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been crucial in strengthening the nation's aviation sector. He extended his full cooperation to Hitit and encouraged them to explore more opportunities within Pakistan's business landscape. In addition to Ms. Gokman, the meeting was attended by Atilla Lise, Chief Officer of Hitit, and Ayse Gamze Basar, the company's Coordinator for Pakistan. They too expressed their eagerness to contribute to Pakistan's economic growth by investing in key sectors. Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also emphasized the government's dedication to increasing trade between Turkey and Pakistan.

He highlighted the role of the Board of Investment in facilitating international investments and stated that embassies are playing an active role in supporting these efforts.  He conveyed optimism that more foreign institutions, following the example of Pegasus and Hitit, will soon take steps to invest in Pakistan, yielding practical results in the near future. This meeting signals a positive move toward bolstering Turkey-Pakistan relations, particularly in the fields of aviation and broader business collaboration. As both nations continue to work toward expanding economic partnerships, the potential for mutual growth and development appears promising.
