‘Trump card’ ready to put political rivals to rest: Imran

LAHORE: PTI Chairman Imran Khan rejected speculations that he could be disqualified before next general elections, saying “There is absolutely no case that can disqualify me”.
“They are trying their best to disqualify me as I have so many court cases. Every other day they come up with new case against me,” He said in an interview with BBC. When asked as to who would head party in case of his disqualification, Imran replied, “We will cross that bridge when we come to this (disqualification).”
Reiterating his demand for snap polls, PTI Chief reiterated that only free and fair elections could ensure stability in country. “Only way Pakistan could get stability is through free and fair elections.”
When asked why he is demanding polls only few months earlier as it could further cause damage to economy, Imran said, “Damage has already been done and it’s only going to get worse longer this government stays.” “Worry in Pakistan is that we could have Sri Lanka type situation,” he added. Imran Khan warned Pakistan Democratic Movement saying he had "Trump card" and plenty of choices to put his political rivals to test. Speaking to senior journalists he took a dig at Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, alleging that by omitting to include election date in summary sent following dissolution of assembly, he had breached Constitution.
Recounting demand of elections, Mr Khan said if polls will not held, country will have to face Sri Lanka-like situation. Berating Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, he held financial czar responsible for economic woes.
Making his claim on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Khan said serious voices were being heard regarding vandalism within PML-N.
He chided PML-N for "Inherent politics," saying former party leader Chaudhry Nisar was first to raise voice against dynastic politics. He made it clear that there was no plan to stage protest, even if date of general elections was not announced.
Earlier, PTI Chief convened parliamentary party meeting in Islamabad today to discuss party's future strategy in National Assembly.
