Karachi: Transition Officer Hasan Abbas made emergency visit to all five towns of Central Municipality. He reviewed arrangements being taken in connection with cleaning operation in District on Eid-ul-Adha. Chairman Liaquatabad Town Faraz Haseeb was also present.

They inspected entrails and offal collection points at Liaquatabad Dakkhana Chowk and Liaquatabad Sindhi Hotel Sokha Ground. Director Sanitation Zaheer Ahmed and municipal officers were also present. Hassan Abbas talking to media said that on Eid al-Adha staff of Central Municipality and Solid Waste Management Board will carry out task of disposing of waste in Central District with mutual cooperation. Representatives will monitor operation. Giving details of arrangements he said that collection points are being established at 19 places in District and 12 Suzukis will be provided in each union committee to collect sacrificial animals waste.

Suzukis will pick up trash from these areas and transport to collection points, from where waste will be loaded into dumpers and buried in trenches dug on Jam Chakru and Gondal Pass landfill sides. He said that operation will start from seven in morning and special emergency centres will be established in every UC. Elected public representatives and local government officials will be present to serve people and resolve their grievances.

These emergency centres will remain active during three days of Eid. Special cleaning arrangements have been made around masjid, imam bargahs and Eidgahs in district for Eid congregation.
