‘Transgender Act 2018’

This letter is being written in hopes that it gives rise to a very grave matter that is being taken very lightly. The issue is the Transgender Act 2018 which gives permission for someone to transition their gender from male to female or vice versa.
This is problematic due to many reasons. The number one reason is that we reside in an Islamic state which should not allow anything that is clearly stated as Haram in the Quran. Residing in an Islamic state, this act gives rise to problems such as inheritance. Moreover, a person transitioning from male to female will be breeching the privacy of thousands of women in a segregated place. Representatives from Nadra have confirmed that if a male or female comes forward and say that based on desire or physical appearance, they would want to switch their gender, so no questions will be asked.
This is clearly allowing mass population to self-identify their gender, based off on instincts or thoughts that can be a disorder, easily treatable through psychology regardless of the gender they are assigned at birth. All of this is also undermining the rights of intersex people (people who are born with this mutation of chromosomes and have not gone through any surgeries to reflect this condition.) Intersex people have been found protesting against this Act in multiple places Nationwide, some of them even getting recognition on television.
With all of this being said, there is one last thing I need to say to conclude this. There are only two genders. Even intersex are inclined towards any one gender depending on the hormones. This is simple biology.
I hope we all will stand together to condemn this Act and hope that our government gives rights to the Intersex Community and ban transgender as they go against Islamic guidelines.
