KARACHI: Pakistan Railways workers have suspended train services across the nation due to unpaid wages, with a protest being held on a railway track at Cant station, leading to the suspension of various train departures, including Green Line and Rehman Baba from Cantt station.

Pakistan Railways had previously made plans to upgrade and commercialize railway stations in order to generate substantial revenue.

Caretaker Railways Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar stated that railway stations will continue to be significant commercial centers in the future, and the upgrading of Rawalpindi Railway Station and its surroundings will enhance its commercial viability and revenue generation for stakeholders.
