ISLAMABAD: Traders’ community threatened to observe country-wide shut down if government does not withdraw recently issued Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) under Tajir-Dost Scheme.

President All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran Ajmal Baloch in statement rejected SRO issued by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He said that if SRO is not withdrawn, traders will be forced to announce nationwide shut down. Ajmal Baloch demanded from FBR to immediately withdraw SRO or else they would announce strike. He said that SRO should be issued in accordance with agreed-upon terms between government and traders.

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran President said that during negotiations, FBR was informed that scheme has failed and both filers and non-filers are already paying advance income tax through electricity bills. Ajmal categorically said that traders will not pay any further advance Income Tax under any circumstances.
