Traders ‘backbone’ of country’s economy: Governor Tessori

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that industrialists, traders and businessmen are backbone of Pakistan’s economy, continuation of commercial and business activities even in difficult conditions was very impressive. They are actively participating in welfare activities and this is reason that many welfare institutions in province are running today he said this addressing opening ceremony of Tariq Saeed Avenue.
Consul General of United Arab Emirates Bakhit Atiq Al Rumithi, Administrator Karachi Dr. Saifur Rehman, FPCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, senior Vice President Sulaiman Chawla, industrialists and businessmen were present.
Governor said that business community has key role in overcoming challenge like unemployment. He said that in order to deal with economic situation, mutual cooperation of government and business community is necessary. He said that today’s ceremony is reflection of vision of business community, national services of well-known industrialist Tariq Saeed have been commendable, naming avenue after Tariq Saeed is clear acknowledgment of his services.
Tariq Saeed’s special thing was that he never hesitated to speak truth. Governor said that doors of Governor House are open to business community. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that Tariq Saeed had done lot of services for economic development, Tariq Saeed is founding President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of G-77 Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. He held key positions like President of FPCCI and KCCI. Khurram Saeed son of late Tariq Saeed thanked Governor and Administrator Karachi for naming avenue after Tariq Saeed.
Governor said that land grabbers will not leave be be pardoned. He said in view of power crisis, work on energy sources is going on. He said that those who have authority will be accountable for their authority.
