Town chairmen will get powers after transaction period completed, says Nasir Shah

Karachi: Senior leader Pakistan Peoples’ Party Syed Nasir Hussain Shah addressing opening ceremony of Eats and Beats exhibition at Karachi Expo Centre said that in addition to food and drink stalls, handicraft stalls were also set up in two-day exhibition. I congratulate administration for organising such an exhibition in which chef, qawwali night, live concert and music band have been organised in Eats and Beats Mega Family Fun Fair event. He said I would ask everyone to come here and participate and enjoy.

Nasir Hussain talking to media said that Eats and Beats Festival will add to vibrancy of city as food festival where people will come not only from Karachi but from all over country. He said that we sincerely hope that elections will be held on time, elections in 90 days is constitutional requirement that should be fulfilled, it is expected from caretaker government that he will leave in three months after fulfilling his constitutional role.

He said that it is necessary to have an assembly if seats are to be increased, delimitation is necessary in terms of population. He said that committee has been formed for journalist friends and family of martyrs, on other hand, there have been some suspicious arrests for murder of journalist in Sukkur and we have assured that those involved will be punished.

He said that transaction period will be completed this month or in September, after transaction period, all town chairmen will get powers.

He said that ban on construction maps is temporary and it is hoped that caretaker government will remove ban soon. He added that it is hoped that constituencies or other election matters will be completed within 90 days. He said that one should have good expectations from caretaker government, people are very worried about electricity bills are beyond capacity of people and should be reduced, no one can take law into own hands. He said that delegation of Peoples’ Party will go to Election Commission while delegation will include Naveed Qamar, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Murad Ali Shah and we are hopeful that Election Commission will definitely accept our suggestions.
