Jinnah University for Women
The compassionate journey of “Tough Together” started as an assignment for “Community Development”. The inspiration behind the initiative is the passion to serve the community, empathy to help the needy, and determination to empower those with limitations such as blindness and deafness, enabling full participation in life despite challenges. As the name suggests, the idea of touch, which can be a vital source of communication and connection for these individuals, conveys a sense of togetherness and unity. In this initiative, we donate items that aid individuals in overcoming their limitations or assist them in moving forward despite them, such as “Hearing Aids”, “Braille Quran e Pak”, and similar items.
We, the students of “Jinnah University for Women”, couldn't have made this initiative possible without the assistance of our institutional sponsors, namely, “Deploy Private Limited”, a well-known firm that prioritizes inclusivity and support for these individuals, and “Ice & Spice”, a restaurant striving not only to serve people through quality food but also by uplifting the community. The support of these angel sponsors serves as the backbone of this initiative, contributing significantly to its success.
All these items are donated through a recognized welfare association, namely “Ida Rieu”. Their dedication to creating a positive impact on the lives of those with special needs reflects the true spirit of compassion and inclusivity. We not only contribute to their cause but also gain a profound understanding of the significance of gratitude and the transformative power of small acts of kindness.
“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see”.
~Mark Twain.
